In a new flashy marketing promo video Motorola have unveiled two new Tablets. The Xoom 2 and the Xoom 2 Media Edition. Both devices offer the same specs with only the display sizes separating them. Taking their design queues from the newly released Motorola RAZR smartphone, The Xoom 2 features a 10.1-inch display while the Media Edition provides an 8.2-inch display. Both include Corning Gorilla glass for a scratch resistant finish and new Splash-guard protection against liquid spills.
Under the hood a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU is the beating heart of these new slates with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, front and rear cameras and 178-degree viewing angles from their screens. The Xoom 2 is advertised as being Business ready in terms of security and productivity and also offers Motocast media streaming from your PC. The Media Edition tablet is optimized for media content and provides a subwoofer and 3D surround sound with plenty of Bass.
Both Tablets are super thin and light and will come preinstalled with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, although you can expect an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in the next few weeks. These new Xoom Tablets are due to hit PC World, Dixons and Carphone Warehouse stores in the UK and Ireland first. Pricing details have not yet been announced.
