The latest 4.2-inch Android Gingerbread-powered smartphone from Sony Ericsson has been doing the rounds Internationally but has only just popped up in the US market. The Xperia Arc has now found itself a home on the AT&T network and will be available contract free for $600. It features a display resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU, 512MB of RAM, MicroSD and MicroSDHC expansion along with an Accelerometer, Compass and GPS.
The Arc gets it’s name from it’s unusual curved design and it’s Candybar form factor is comprised of the following dimensions: 4.92 x 2.48 x 0.34 (125 x 63 x 8.7 mm). The battery will provide 430 hours of standby and 6.91 hours of talk time. It’s rear facing 8MP camera provides 720P video capture with image stabilization and a range of photography features such Face and smile detection, digital zoom and Geo tagging. The Xperia Arc also offers rich integrated social media features such as Facebook, Picasa and Twitter.
