Lenovo has added yet another lightweight ultraportable challenger to the increasingly cluttered market place in the form of the ThinkPad X121e. It features an 11.6-inch display with a matte finish and a resolution of 1366 x 768. As you would expect from a ThinkPad series notebook Lenovo are targeting the business and student market but with solid specs and a competitive price point this will likely attract a few everyday consumers too.
Powered by a choice of AMD Fusion E-350 APU, C-50 APU or an Intel Core i3-2357 CPU theres also 320GB of storage or a solid state option. A six cell battery will provide up to 8-hours of runtime. I/O ports include HDMI, VGA, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, SDXC Memory card reader and a headphone jack. You can also expect Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and optional WiMax and / or 3G. The ThinkPad X121e has been launched in Japan and Europe now for $575.
