Its my opinion that any smartphone screen above 4-inches is just a bit too big. There are plenty of 4.3-inch phones on the market courtesy of HTC now it seems they wish to up the ante with a 4.5-inch challenger running Android Gingerbread. The HTC Holiday offers a large qHD display at 960 x 540 resolution. The CPU is 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm, the phone offers 1GB of RAM, a rear 8MP camera with a front facing 1.3MP camera also. There had been some speculation that the rear camera on the Holiday may feature 3D video capture capabilities via a pair of stereoscopic cameras but this has not been confirmed by HTC.
Other noteworthy features include GPS, Accelerometer, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth, LTE 4G and MicroUSB. The remaining hardware specs are yet to be revealed. The design is your classic candybar style with nothing truly unique here except it’s extra large screen. At present we only have the above image from the folks at Pocketnow to go on. We do know that the HTC Holiday will make it’s home intitally on AT&T’s network in the US. Launch details have not been announced. Stay tuned for more on this one.
