Fujitsu have now begun accepting pre-orders of their new Windows 7 Stylistic Q550 slate PC. This business tablet features a 10.1-inch antiglare 1366×768 display at a substantial 400 nits, which is ideal for indoor and outdoor use. Its powered by an Intel Atom Oak Trail Z670 CPU with 2GB of RAM and 30GB of solid state storage, which is scalable to 64GB. It also sports front and rear facing cameras, a digital fingerprint recognition system, stylus pen and a removable battery. The display boasts screen auto-rotation and content reflow. Many tablets on the market today are primarily content consumption devices as opposed to being content creation devices. The Stylistic Q550 attempts to address this issue with pen-based handwriting recognition and an onscreen keyboard with predictive text.
Similarly to many Windows business notebooks the Q550 also includes a wealth of security features such as Advanced Theft Protection, SmartCard reader, Full disk Encryption, Fingerprint sensor and optional embedded TPM module. You’ll also have full integration with existing Windows 7 IT infrastructure from security to enterprise and office software to automatic backup and security. Of course you’ll find a whole host of connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11n, a Bootable USB port, HDMI-out and an SD card slot for additional expansion. The 30GB version starts at $729. Overall the Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 will appeal to many business users looking for a solid modern Windows 7-powered Tablet PC that also utilizes a responsive touch UI, provides an excellent productivity suite and benefits from rock solid industry standard security features. Whats more at these competitive price points some technophiles in the consumer level market may also sit up and take notice too.
