launched at CES 2011 in January Lenovo’s new IdeaPad S205 series offer a fully customizable ultraportable consumer notebook experience with plenty of spec options and a great entry level price of just $499. There are a total of three 11.6-inch notebooks in the range. The baseline model features the AMD Fusion E-350 CPU at a clock speed of 1.6GHz. The display resolution maxes out at a familiar 1366 x 768. RAM starts at 3GB and storage begins at 350GB, which is scalable in the higher end models to 750GB. The GPU is the Radeon 6310. Additional features includes Wi-Fi, a HD Anti-glare display and a 1.3MP webcam. The IdeaPad S205 higher level models offer larger storage options, RAM to 4GB, 3G support and Bluetooth all for $599.
Although its by no means a Macbook Air or a Samsung 9 series or even a ThinkPad X1 in terms of specs or form factor, The S205 still provides a competitively priced ultraportable with a plus sized quality NetBook display.
