Paul Sheedy from Computing Forever has uploaded a review video of the Cowon D3 Media Player to his eeipshy YouTube channel. The D3 is a solid Android powered video and audio player featuring a 3.7 inch AMOLED Display with 16 Million Colors and a resolution of 800 x 480. It also includes JetEffect 3.0 & BBE+, 39 Presets, Bluetooth and Accelerometer, Haptic touch feedback, Wi-Fi and an NTFS File System.

It supports Full HD Video playback up to 1080p. With it’s Android D3 interface it offers you a unique user experience. Storage can be expanded by up to an additional 32GB thanks to a MicroSD port. It will also provide you with 64 hours of music playback. In terms of Audio quality the J3 offers you support for a wide range of file types including MP3/2, WMA, FLAC, OGG, APE, M4A, and WAV formats. There also a fully customizable Equalizer mode with plenty of preset options. Video codecs playable on the device include AVI, WMV, ASF. Theres also an FM Radio and full Flash Content support. Overall the Cowon D3 offers a competitive alternative to devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Player, the iPod Touch and the Zune HD.

  1. I really have trouble seeing the point of any company seriously attempting to combat the iPod lineup. I can see companies making very cheap alternatives, as people obviously won’t always be able to afford an iPod. But in terms of quality and interface, it isn’t really viable to try to improve upon it.
