
Launched at CES 2011 in January, Lenovo has finally starting shipping it’s latest ThinkPad Edge E420s notebook lineup in the US. Designed to meet the needs of the small to medium Enterprise market it features a 14 inch 1366 x 768 LED-Backlit display with a 2.1GHz Core i3-2310M Sandy Bridge powered CPU. Storage begins at a modest 250GB, 4GB of RAM with the same GPU found in the latest 13.3 inch entry level MacBook Pros, thats the Intel HD 3000. I/O is pretty standard with 802.11n Wi-Fi, a HD Webcam which is low-light sensitive, DVD drive and like all good business machines, comes complete with a fingerprint reader.
Surprisingly Bluetooth 3 is absent from the lineup by default but can be added as an optional extra for $20. The E420s also has the option of a faster CPU the Core i5-2410M for those needing a little bit more juice. Its nice to see that lenovo make laptops that look this century. I get the whole business machines must be black and look all sterile thing but some of the thinkpads are just horrendous.
