On April 12th to 13th in IDF Beijing, Intel are to officially launch their next generation Atom CPUs entitled Cedar Trail the followup to Oak Trail. The new platform will likely feature full HD Wireless Stream and sport a 32nm Cedarview CPU along with HD 1080P WiDi support. It is also believed that Intel will be discussing the applications of such processors in the development of quiet fanless netbooks. This would in turn offer the potential for more power efficient netbooks with vastly improved battery life and slimmer lighter form factors. Nettop PCs will also likely benefit from these Cedar Trail processor breakthroughs.
We’ll have more on this story when the Intel Developer Forum kicks off in April.
Fanlessness would be a dream come true for the netbook and nettop markets. Very exciting news!
